Helix Team – Field Medic

Character: Lieutenant T’Lira Varan

Species: Half-Vulcan / Half-Romulan
Gender: Female
Division: Medical
Rank: Lieutenant
Assignment: USS Asclepius – Helix Team Field Medic
Callsign/Nickname: “Specter”

Character Bible: Lt. T’Lira Varan

Birthplace: Unknown
Raised: New Romulus, by Romulan civic wardens and Vulcan diplomatic aides
Age: 32
Height: 5’9”
Eyes: Amber-Gold
Hair: Black, cropped close except for a traditional Romulan braid
Distinguishing Markings: Thin scar from temple to jaw, from early childhood trauma

Personality & Conflict:

T’Lira walks a narrow path between two worlds: the suppressed emotion and serenity of Vulcan logic, and the raw, passionate fire of her Romulan ancestry. She does not reject either — instead, she is constantly managing the war between them.

Where Vulcans meditate for peace, T’Lira meditates for containment.

She has been known to lose control under extreme stress, channeling an almost feral protectiveness toward injured teammates. The aftermath leaves her deeply silent and withdrawn.

Field Medic Specialization:

  • Emergency battlefield triage and stabilization
  • Gene-shock suppression and neural trauma isolation
  • Developed modified portable biopod deployment for rapid beam-out surgery
  • Self-administered sedation protocols to preempt emotional overload
  • Capable of disarming, disabling, and immobilizing threats using non-lethal takedowns

Character Notes:

  • She still speaks some of the lost Old Romulan dialects
  • Maintains a personal holo-image of a Vulcan wadi tree — the only gift left by her birth mother
  • When not on duty, she composes silent meditations on duality and identity
  • Respected, feared, and quietly admired by her team

Starfleet Personnel File – LCARS ACCESS

Subject: VARAN, T’LIRA

  • Starfleet Medical School – Advanced Xenopathology (Valedictorian)
  • Special Operations Medical Certification – Triage Under Fire, Delta Class
  • USS Asclepius – Assigned to Helix Team for field rescue, containment, and triage

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE – FLAGGED

“Subject displays calculated detachment in the field but experiences internalized volatility. Her control is absolute until it’s not — then she becomes violently reactive, albeit always in defense of the injured. Recommend regular psychometric calibration and post-deployment decompression sessions.”
— Lt. Cmdr. Vasya Trenn, Starfleet Psych

Skills Summary

  • Biochemical threat containment
  • Triage in phaser fire zones
  • Pressure point combat (Vulcan & Romulan variants)
  • Neuro-injection field tools
  • Emergency transporter node stabilizing injectors

Character Bible: Lt. Korrath, Son of Drenn

Background:
Born on Qo’noS, Korrath grew up in the shadow of Drenn, his father, a prominent legal prosecutor of the Klingon High Council Courts — a man who fought with words as blades and never lost a case. Though Korrath trained in the warrior arts, he came to respect his father’s interpretation of honor through justice, and carries that respect proudly into every conflict.

Instead of joining a House with a blade in his hand, he requested assignment to the KDF Exchange Program, selecting Starfleet not out of rebellion, but from a genuine belief that its ideals show a new kind of strength — one too often mocked by the Empire.

Tactical Specialization:

  • Expert in breach entry tactics and area control weaponry
  • Trained in non-lethal deterrents for civilian population protection (a point of personal growth)
  • Strong understanding of KDF martial traditions and Starfleet tactical protocols
  • Serves as morale backbone to Helix Team in tense missions

Personality:

  • Eager, direct, never ashamed of where he comes from
  • Embraces both discipline and battle-rage, depending on the scenario
  • Unfailingly loyal to Lt. Cmdr. Arleigh, though he sometimes clashes with the team’s more cerebral members
  • Respects those who fight not with fists, but with conviction
  • Keeps a Bat’leth made by his father in the USS Asclepius’ training deck — never drawn unless Starfleet protocol is overridden

Team Impressions:

“He fights like he has something to prove, but never at our expense. I’d follow him through a plasma storm.”
— Lt. T’Lira Varan

“Every time someone calls him a brute, he smiles… and makes them feel foolish with perfect Federation dialect and philosophy.”
— Cassandra Arleigh

Helix Team – Science/Hazmat Specialist

Character: Specialist Orel Jax (HOLO–ENGRAM SERIES 47902–JX)

Species (formerly): Barzan
Gender Identity: Non-binary (they/them)
Division: Science (Hazmat/Xenoenvironmental Research)
Rank: Civilian Specialist (Former Lieutenant)
Status: Fully Sentient Holographic Entity
Assignment: USS Asclepius, Helix Team
Callsign: “Echo”

Character Bible: Specialist Orel Jax

Background:
Orel Jax was a Barzan xenotoxicologist and biosafety lead aboard USS Krakatoa, known for their reserved brilliance and environmental sensitivity. During a classified first-contact incident with a drifting bioship, Jax was exposed to a quantum-degradable pathogen that attacked oxygenated atmospheres and higher neurological functions.

Knowing they were dying, Jax submitted to experimental engram mapping, a classified Starfleet Medical initiative tied to the Emergency Containment Protocols. Their body died, but their consciousness endured, reconstructed in a custom holographic matrix housed aboard USS Asclepius.

They now serve as the ship’s science/hazmat specialist on Helix Team — quiet, incorporeal, and deeply analytical, with a ghost’s patience and a scientist’s precision.

Personality & Behavior:

  • Reserved, elegant, deliberate
  • Speaks calmly but with emotional undercurrents
  • Sometimes refers to their own death with unnerving clinical detachment
  • Avoids eye contact, not out of disrespect — but disassociation
  • Will risk “disruption” of their matrix to protect the living — considers it ethical protocol

Scientific Expertise:

  • Quantum microbiology
  • Hazardous material containment
  • Bio-environmental adaptation systems
  • Xenopathogen field analysis
  • Radiation and corrosive atmosphere exposure modeling
  • Incompatible biosystem interface protocols

Starfleet Personnel File – LCARS ACCESS

Advisories & Notes

  • Holo-matrix requires stabilization field in high-radiation zones
  • Exhibits phantom recall episodes — memories that cannot be confirmed as real
  • Chooses to wear a Barzan breathing device despite not needing it — symbolic
  • Nicknamed “Echo” by the team — half out of respect, half as superstition

Character Bible: Ensign Dorrin Grell

Role: Engineering / Technical Operations Specialist
Species: Bolian
Gender: Male
Division: Operations (Hazard Team: Helix)
Assignment: USS Asclepius
Rank: Ensign
Callsign: “Socket”

Background:

Born aboard the SS Baruv Vento, Dorrin Grell grew up in an extended Bolian cargo fleet that traded spare parts and circuit mods across the Federation border zones. A childhood of “fix it before it explodes” taught him fast hands, fast thinking, and fast talking.

Recruited into Starfleet for his improvisational skills, he somehow coasted through the Academy on charisma and creative solutions — including a rigged espresso machine that granted him legendary status in the engineering wing.

Specializations:

  • Field repairs under fire
  • Portable shielding and exo-toolkits
  • Advanced sensor/dampener countermeasures
  • Tactical drone deployment
  • Explosive ordinance (reluctantly… with flair)

Personality:

  • Humorous, wise-cracking, and self-deprecating
  • Excellent under pressure, terrible at silence
  • Always carries a multitool (and gum)
  • Considers his uniform a “mild suggestion”
  • Talks to machines like they’re alive
  • Often gets into debates with Tellarites for fun

“If it’s smoking, that means it’s working… or thinking about working.”

Starfleet LCARS File – ACCESS GRANTED

Name: Dorrin Grell
Species: Bolian
Rank: Ensign
Serial: 942-BL-772
Current Assignment: USS Asclepius – Helix Team
Position: Engineering & Technical Operations
Security Clearance: Level 4 – Hazard Deployment Certified

Psychological Assessment:
“Displays erratic behavior under casual conditions, but excels under crisis. Treats life like a zero-g comedy and Starfleet as the punchline. Loyalty is absolute. Suggest pairing with more emotionally neutral teammates for balance.”
– Counselor Praksha L. Wei

Character Bible: Chief Warrant Officer Hressssk

Species: Gorn
Gender: Male
Division: Operations (Hazard Team: Helix)
Assignment: USS Asclepius
Rank: Chief Warrant Officer
Role: Heavy Support / Breach Trooper
Callsign: “Crag”

Background:

Hressssk was born within a warrior-clan of the Gorn Hegemony, but unlike many of his kind, he sought structure and philosophy beyond the ancient traditions. An early diplomatic program with the Federation exposed him to Starfleet ideals, and he volunteered for an exchange commission after a peaceful colonial aid mission.

Despite his bulk and growling demeanor, Hressssk follows strict personal codes of restraint and service — unless doors need smashing or someone’s shielding is in the way.

Specializations:

  • Powered exosuit operations
  • Manual and explosive breach protocols
  • Kinetic weaponry and heavy phasers
  • Field power systems and armored shields
  • Defensive anchoring during evacuation ops

Personality:

  • Quiet and watchful, rarely speaks unless needed
  • Treats combat like an art form
  • Fascinated by Terran geology — carries a rock sample in his gear
  • Occasionally reads Federation poetry. Will deny this if asked.
  • Very protective of the smaller members of the team, particularly Grell and “Echo”

“Some barriers must fall. Others must yield. I merely decide which.”

Starfleet LCARS File – ACCESS GRANTED

Name: Hressssk
Species: Gorn
Rank: Chief Warrant Officer
Security Clearance: Level 5 – Tactical Deployment Specialist

Character Bible: Subcommander Velan t’Sholaris

Species: Romulan
Gender: Female
Division: Intelligence Liaison / Recon
Assignment: USS Asclepius – Helix Team
Rank Equivalent: Lieutenant (Starfleet Rank Integration)
Affiliation: New Romulan Republic Navy, on exchange with Starfleet
Callsign: “Wraith”

Background:

Velan t’Sholaris was born on Virinat, the colony world attacked during the Hobus aftermath. She grew up under occupation, then fought with the early resistance against Tal Shiar infiltration. Recruited into the Republic’s Special Operations wing, Velan developed expertise in stealth infiltration, information warfare, and sensor-evading technology.

Her deployment to Starfleet’s USS Asclepius is part of a political exchange initiative, but her loyalty to the Republic — and her pragmatic respect for the Federation — are ironclad. She is no spy, though some wonder.

Specializations:

  • Active camouflage / cloaking gear adaptation
  • Neural suppressor tactics
  • Sabotage and sabotage countermeasures
  • Multispectral field surveillance
  • Disabling internal systems without alerting bridge control
  • Fluent in Vulcan, Romulan, and Cardassian dialects

Personality:

  • Quiet, calculated, and intense
  • Highly observant — speaks only when it matters
  • Believes in redemption through action, not ideology
  • Protective of T’Lira Varan as a fellow outlier
  • Keeps a small Romulan puzzle-box from her childhood

Zulu Team Roster

Lt. Commander Jaxon Reeve – Human (Team Leader)

Origin: Luna Colony, Earth
Specialty: Tactical Command, Combat Strategy
Background: A battle-hardened tactician shaped by the Iconian War and Hur’q engagements. Reeve forged Zulu Team with a philosophy of no wasted lives—every team member is trained to lead if needed. Respected across the fleet for his ability to bring crews home from impossible missions.

Personality: Focused, authoritative, compassionate
Weapons Loadout: Type-3c Phaser Pulse Rifle, Modular Armor MkXII
Field Trait: Inspires teamwide cooldown reduction under stress

Character Spotlight: Lt. Commander Jaxon Reeve

Role: Team Leader – Tactical Command
Species: Human
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Origin: Luna Colony, Earth
Assignment: USS Fortitude – Zulu Hazard Team Lead

Background

Jaxon Reeve was born beneath the domes of New Berlin, Luna Colony—a second-generation Starfleet officer forged by tragedy. His mother, a medical officer, was killed during the Undine Infiltration Crisis. That loss defined his path.

Reeve enrolled in Starfleet Tactical Academy, excelling in asymmetric combat theory and command psychology. His leadership potential was clear during the Iconian War, where he commanded boarding units with surgical precision under Dominion fire. Rather than taking a post behind a desk, he opted for the front line: Hazard Operations.

Specialization

  • Zero-G Tactical Breach
  • Multispecies Unit Coordination
  • Moral Crisis Decision-Making
  • Adaptive Field Leadership

Personality Traits

  • Calm under fire, leads from the front
  • Always memorizes every team member’s mission stats
  • Keeps a list of fallen teammates and never repeats deployment patterns without studying what went wrong

Quote

“We train for the worst not because we want it—because someone has to stand in the doorway when the vacuum’s on the other side.”

Lieutenant Ssa’kith – Gorn

Origin: Defector Colony, Klenthar System
Specialty: Breaching & Heavy Assault
Background: Once a Gorn Hegemony enforcer, Ssa’kith sought purpose beyond conquest. Recruited by Starfleet’s Path of Redemption program. Now a powerhouse on the battlefield and a calm presence in crisis. His strength makes him the first in during breaches—and the last line when under siege.

Personality: Philosophical, patient, indomitable
Weapons Loadout: Heavy Phaser Repeater, Portable Barrier Emitter
Field Trait: Absorbs incoming damage to protect teammates

Character Origin Spotlight: Lieutenant Ssa’kith

Role: Heavy Weapons & Breach Specialist
Species: Gorn
Current Rank: Lieutenant
Starfleet Status: Active Hazard Ops

Backstory:

Homeworld: Originally from the outer territories of the Gorn Hegemony, Ssa’kith was bred in a war-brood as part of the imperial military caste. He was genetically and culturally designed to conquer, dominate, and survive.

Defection:

During a brutal campaign along the Tzenkethi border, Ssa’kith’s unit was ordered to sterilize a rebel colony—one containing civilians. For the first time, Ssa’kith disobeyed orders, shielding a group of noncombatants. Branded a traitor, he fled under fire and surrendered to Starfleet at Outpost Omega-Six.

Redemption in Starfleet:

Sponsored under the “Path of Redemption” initiative, he underwent three years of integration, combat deprogramming, and cultural reconditioning. Now, he uses his strength to protect—not to subjugate. He chose the name “Ssa’kith”, meaning “shielding claw” in ancient Gorn.

Personality Traits:

  • Quiet, rarely speaks unless important
  • Follows Reeve’s orders with unwavering discipline
  • Secretly mentors Drevik in melee survival tactics

Quote:
“I was made for war. I choose peace. Until peace must be made… by force.”

Ensign Drevik – Denobulan

Origin: Denobula Prime
Specialty: Combat Medicine & Xenobiology
Background: A cheerful medic with a fascination for hostile environments and alien biology. Drevik is Zulu Team’s lifeline—both on the battlefield and psychologically. Keeps morale high with stories, optimism, and fast-acting syntho-cellular regeneration.

Personality: Upbeat, curious, empathetic
Weapons Loadout: Medical Phaser, Stasis Field Grenades, Nanite Injector Suite
Field Trait: Auto-deploy med-nanites when a teammate drops below 20% health

Character Spotlight: Ensign Drevik

Role: Combat Medic & Xenobiology
Species: Denobulan
Origin: Coral Plateau, Denobula Prime
Rank: Ensign

Background:

A cheerful soul with an obsession for dangerous things, Drevik grew up in a multigenerational household of explorers. His three fathers were all field medics, and his six siblings joined various Federation research divisions.

Rather than pursue a safe scientific post, Drevik sought out Starfleet Hazard Ops—because, in his words, “No petri dish beats the rush of patching a Tellarite under fire.”

Field Style:

He wields a modified med-phaser with stunning capabilities and can stabilize team members with a portable nanite matrix. He refuses to carry lethal weapons but is fully trained in hand-to-hand combat, often using stasis emitters to knock enemies out instead.

Traits:

  • Infectiously upbeat, even in firefights
  • Brews teas from alien flora post-mission to calm the team
  • Keeps a lucky Denobulan plant in his medkit nicknamed “Snappy”

Quote:
“Don’t die. It’s terribly inconvenient for morale.”

Ensign Velra T’Laan – Vulcan/Romulan Hybrid

Origin: Mol’Rihan (New Romulus)
Specialty: Tactical Science, Alien Tech Analysis
Background: A dual-world child of logic and instinct. Velra’s talent for battlefield analysis and tech disruption gives Zulu Team the upper hand against enemies relying on shielding, cloaking, or energy fields. She operates on the principle: “Victory Favors insight, not impulse.”

Personality: Quiet, precise, internally conflicted
Weapons Loadout: Phaser Compression Pistol, Multi-Spectrum Disruptor Kit
Field Trait: Auto-tag enemy weak points after scanning

Character Spotlight: Ensign Velra T’Laan

Role: Tactical Science / Alien Technology
Species: Vulcan/Romulan hybrid
Origin: Khellian Settlement, New Romulus
Rank: Ensign

Background:

The daughter of a Romulan Republic official and a Vulcan ambassador, Velra lived between ideologies—logic and instinct, control and emotion. Trained in Vulcan disciplines by her mother, and skilled in decryption, linguistics, and xenotech from her father’s influence, she struggled with acceptance from either world.

Starfleet Ascent:

She joined Starfleet as a tactical analyst but requested reassignment after aiding in the shutdown of a rogue Borg nanite relay in the Solene system. Starfleet Intelligence noticed her calm reaction under pressure and suggested Hazard Team integration.

Traits:

  • Pragmatic, emotionally distant at times
  • Practices modified Vulcan meditation that incorporates Romulan poetry
  • Has memorized over 50 species’ neural architecture

Quote:
“I analyse. I adapt. I survive. That is not logic—it is experience.”

Lt. JG Nalora zh’Khev – Andorian (Zhen)

Origin: Andoria
Specialty: Reconnaissance & Close-Quarters Combat
Background: Formerly of the Andorian Imperial Guard, Nalora is a blade-in-the-dark operator. Her antennae give her unparalleled spatial awareness. She’s the one who clears the path through enemy territory, or holds the line with just a combat knife and willpower.

Personality: Intense, honourable, fearless
Weapons Loadout: Twin Disruptor Blades, Adaptive Camouflage Armor
Field Trait: Gains evasion and speed when health drops below 50%

Character Spotlight: Lt. JG Nalora zh’Khev

Role: Close Quarters Combat & Recon
Species: Andorian (Zhen)
Origin: Lor’taan Glacier Range, Andoria
Rank: Lieutenant Junior Grade

Background:

Born into a bonded clan of Imperial Guard lineage, Nalora trained from youth in subterranean warfare and arctic combat. Her family’s honor was tarnished after her elder sibling defected during the Klingon-Cardassian Border Skirmishes.

To restore her clan’s name, she enlisted and became an elite shock trooper in the Andorian Imperial Guard—known for leading zero-visibility insertion teams into Breen territory.

Transfer to Starfleet:

During a mission that saved Federation personnel during the Breen occupation of Korvan Station, she gained recognition for her loyalty under fire. Offered a transfer to Starfleet Tactical, she reluctantly accepted—so long as she could “fight on the front, not a bridge.”

She joined Zulu Team after defeating three other candidates in a controlled CQB gauntlet simulation.

Traits:

  • Tactile fighter, rarely uses ranged weapons unless necessary
  • Loyal to death, especially to Reeve whom she calls “Kaleth’rev” – “Shield-Brother”
  • Keeps an Andorian blade tucked into her boot from her Guard days

Quote:
“If we’re dying, we’ll do it with blades drawn and enemies bleeding.

CPO Ch’korrak – Tellarite

Origin: Tellar Prime
Specialty: Engineering & Field Devices
Background: Gruff, blunt, and one of the best combat engineers in the quadrant. Ch’korrak specializes in bypassing security systems, crafting battlefield gadgets, and keeping the team’s gear one step ahead of the enemy. If something explodes on a mission, odds are it was his doing—or his undoing.

Personality: Sardonic, resourceful, secretly kind-hearted
Weapons Loadout: Phaser Mini-Turret Pack, Plasma Arc Welder, EMP Drone
Field Trait: Drones repair armor over time for nearby allies

Character Spotlight: Chief Petty Officer Ch’korrak

Role: Combat Engineering / Field Electronics
Species: Tellarite
Origin: Quarra Basin, Tellar Prime
Rank: Chief Petty Officer

Background:

Born into a family of structural engineers, Ch’korrak was building security firewalls before he hit puberty. After a pirate raid took out a civilian station he helped design, he vowed to become more than “just a builder.” He joined Starfleet’s engineering corps and eventually specialized in tactical deployment.

Tactical Engineering:

Ch’korrak is infamous for creating “field solutions” like improvised drones, jury-rigged explosive charges, and battlefield sensors cobbled from alien junk. He once rebuilt a transporter stabilizer using a Breen helmet, a bowl of soup, and a fusion capacitor.

Traits:

  • Cranky, sarcastic, surprisingly sentimental
  • Constantly insults team gear… then upgrades it
  • Keeps a running log of every team mission and how many tools it “nearly destroyed”

Quote:
“Engineering is just arguing with physics until you win.”

Miles Llewelyn felt the hum of the delta flyer class shuttle underneath his feet as he looked over his book.

Miles had a fondness for old fashioned books even in his modern century. He listened partly to the universe around him and fondly at the book he was reading.

“Project Hail Mary” was a recent gift from a dear friend and love Shallana. She knew of his fondness for old earth books and especially Science Fiction.  So far the book had not disappointed him he had a blend of hard science, humour and some heartfelt moments in it.

“Anastasia you are clear to deliver Admiral Llewellyn and party to NCC-121021-E, Welcome back to Arise Station. You will be entering USS Fortitude Airspace in 2 minutes. Transferring traffic control to USS Fortitude.”

“Acknowledged, switching to USS Fortitude Airspace, thank you Arise control” Came the response of the acting flight control office Cmdr. Fox White.

He was one of many offices that where new or on temporary assignment to the USS Fortitude.

It had been 11 months since the loss of the USS Fortitude “D” and Miles let his mind wonder for a moment letting out a deep sigh.

The Fortitude had a knack for sometimes being in the wrong place but at the right time. When they had fought the Mirror Borg normally the Lexington class Fortitude would have been with her carrier group but she was solo but had held the line but at create cost.

So Miles now was taking command of the new Fortitude. This time line a main front line ship but commanding a newer and smaller Exeter Class Starship.

Miles had a fondness for these ships as it took inspiration from the older Shangri-La class and constitution class ships of the 23rd century. Miles had been given a golden ticket of pick of ships and assignments. It had surprised many in Starfleet Command at his choice of smaller ship but Miles wanted to go back to his younger years. Miles felt Starfleet had put to much emphasis of larger ships and to much technology of late and he wanted to be a driving force in emphasising the small ship classes like the Exteter and Plymouth class ships. The latter which had fought with the Fortitude as the support ships of the station they had evacuated.

“USS Fortitude to Anastasia you are now in our airspace, you are clear to dock in the main shuttle bay. Welcome home Anastasia.”

“Admiral where clear to dock, with your permission Sir?” Cmdr White reported.

Miles placed his bookmark into his book and stood from his rear seat and walked to the front of the shuttle.

“Please Do Cmdr. I appreciate your help in our shake down, I understand the Asclepius is having a system  update so your soon be back with her and your family.” Miles answered.

“No problem Admiral I was happy to help, they may be smaller than some of the newer ships in the fleet but the Exeter class has those old lines you just can’t beat. She is old school charm and they are pretty besides… these ships have legs, at sub-light these ships are just as fast as escorts but you can take a lot more punishment” Fox responded.

“Very true Commander and I also appreciate that one of her designers will also be piloting for me for the shake down.” Miles answered placing his hand of Fox’s shoulder.

Miles looked up watching the Anastasia pull into the main hanger of the Fortitude and saw his senior command staff in the main shuttle bays observation bay waiting his landing.

Miles watched quietly as the Anastasia deftly touch down with barest hint of the artificial gravity of the Fortitude taking over and the ship landing so deftly.

As Miles felt the engines slowly powering down Cmdr White stood and motioned to the main exit hatch.

“After you Sir?”

Miles nodded and walked over to the main hatch and keyed the command to unlock and open the hatch door.

As the swoosh of the hatch opened the sound of the bosun’s whistle sounded and Miles heard the voice of his first office.

“Attention. Captain of the Deck”

Miles stood on the Deck of the new USS Fortitude he looked at the ships crest, name and registry number above the main exit before turning his attention to his first office Cmdr Teshla Phyhr his female Andorian.

“Thank you number one, how is wife? I apologies your where due to go one shore leave together?” Miles addressed his first office.

“It was ok, she sends her love and wishes she could be here but her work also had a break thru in regard to a dilithum replacement project.” Teshla answered.

Miles nodded. There had long been a debate not for some time about the how long dilithum supply there would be in the future and although the Federation council was worried about the consumption of dilithum within the United Federation of Planets it had decided to start a project for the future to look at alternatives.

Miles was brought out of his thoughts by his number one.

“May I present your Senior command staff Sir”.

Miles nodded.

“Stand easy everyone.” Miles requested not one for to much formality.

Miles looked over his senior staff.

Peny White was chief engineering officer a Cmdr and a borg assimilation survivor from the delta Vega when the Borg attacked them.

Cmdr Rose Harrington was Chief of Operations, born on earth and close friend and confident to Penny. They had been thru the academy together and had assigned different ships but there friendship has endured.

Neku Langi was the Chief Science officer and a Saurian. She had a keen intellect but was prone to be a little cold hearted but had warmed to the crew of the Fortitude and the senior staff after severing for so long with Miles.

Twimek Vodokon was the Chief medical officer officer and a reman and had joined the crew after the encounters at the vault. He preferred to stay in the shadows but had grown accustomed to shipboard light. He was loyal to the crew and to Miles. He had come as a rebel to Miles but had earned the right to be an officer in Starfleet and the new Romulan republic navy.

Akadia Nilona was from the new Romulan republic navy. She was a Commander and on lone. She was chief tactical officer and had a keen sixth sense about things, she also doubled as the Fortitude’s intelligence officer.

Lastly there was Fasu Lira, she was an Orion KDF officer that had left the KDF during the last civil war and had joined the Khitomer Alliance. She was as honourable and determined to the end.

“Thank you everyone, its good to see you all and I will catch up individually with you all later today, shall we get settled?” Miles requested.

Everyone murmured their agreement and they all headed to the turbolift.

As the turbolift slowed and the door opened Miles was greeted by the familiar hum and sounds of the bridge.

The active secondary duty officers when on the bridge.

The Emergency Conn holograph was sitting centre chair. Nerul was sitting at Tactical two station. Vucnak was at Engineering one and Telinka at Engineering two station. 43 of 47 the ships deflector officer ran science one and Felica Eiser ran mission ops 1, one of the ships resident nurses.

“Captain on the bridge.” The Emergency Conn hologram reported and everyone stodd and came to attention.

“As you where everyone.” Miles reported.

“Welcome back Captain.” Stated Felica.

“Thank you” responded Miles with a respectful nod.

“Captain.” Nurse Felica replied.

“Right than number one, shall we get going?” Asked Miles.

“I think so Captain, Stations everyone?” Teshia asked.

“Ms Eiser please get me the dock master?” Miles asked motioning to the Conn officer in his chair that Miles now had the conn.

“Control tower reading Captain.” Felica answered.

“Control tower this is Fortitude requesting permission to depart?” Miles requested.

“This is the control tower, Fortitude is cleared for departure please use lane seven for departure please maintain sublight speed till past the outer marker and you are than clear to navigate and to engage warp drive” Reported the dock master.

“Roger that that control tower, see you after the shake down.” Miles reported.

“Clear all moorings, prepare for departure” Fox White reported now sitting at the Helm.

“Confirmed, moorings cleared, we are ready for departure, all shuttle craft and work bee’s accounted for and now personnel on EVA activity. Our Airspace is green for go.” Rose reported from Operations stations.

“Very good, bring up the warp core to standard configuration, bring the main deflector online and thrusters only hold station, confirm all is green” Miles requested sitting centre Chair and feeling just a little nervous.

“Propulsion set to standard cruiser, deflector online and all drive systems show green on the board.” Penny reported.

The Fortitude’s systems cam online and the small ship main deflector came online and the engines held the Fortitude in positions and her running light came on one by one.

“Ready for departure Captain.” Fox reported.

“Thank you helm, ok everyone this is just a week long shake down to see some test to make sure this new ship is all good, hopefully just a easy cruise.” Miles addressed the bridge.

“Nothing like a shake down to clear the co-webs” Teshla learnt over from her number one seat next to Miles right side.

Miles winked at her.

“Mr White, thrusters ahead one quarter. Take her out” Miles ordered letting his back go back into the new smelling Captain’s chair.

“Aye, aye sir” Fox answered his hands moving swifty over the controls.

The USS Fortitude, NCC-121021-E pulled out of the dock yard eager for new adventures to follow.

NRPG: The tales of the Fortitude will be built from the crew in the Star Trek online so will be included there stories as time moves on:

Captain’s Log — U.S.S. Excalibur, NCC-87500

SD: 2024-1022.2215

It’s time to get this frakking show on the road.

Under my command, this Lamarr-class explorer has been our in space for the past seven months, but we have yet to conduct one single mission of exploration (or even diplomacy) beyond the scanning of whatever is within sensor range as we pass through the space in which we travel.

A lot of that I admit comes from my work within Alliance Central Command’s Malstrom Expeditionary Force, *BUT* when I accepted this role, it was understood that I would be a flag officer leading from the front lines.

Instead, we’ve spent the last many months ferrying crew and supplies to the various starbases, space stations and outposts within and surrounding the Malstrom Expanse.

And that has been a LOT of personnel that have boarded and disembarked this ship during that time.

But as a moment of pride, we can state that Hell’s Keep has been fully manned and in the process of a complete refit.

And Starbase Hatteras is also fully manned and operational with work underway to upgrade the starbase to its next and final form which will include full spacedock facilities.

This is not to say that we have no had a bit of adventure, however, and not all of it good.

Last week, we received an emergency distress call from a Klingon colony on Narvek IV with the contact itself sparse on details.

When we arrived, we found the outpost abandoned of all people.

There were signs of fire fight and battle, yet no bodies … of either attackers or those attacked.

Once the last of the supplies are dropped off at Kollaris Prime, we plan to return to the Narvek system to check in with the teams we left there and join them once again in the investigation and hunt to discover the fate of the colonists.

The U.S.S. Avalon holds station over the location of a Borg assimilation hub as they infiltrate the facility, seeking to liberate some the Borg have taken prisoner and are preparing to assimilate.

Captain’s Log — U.S.S. Avalon, NX-5347-A

SD: 2023-0213.2125

It is no secret that I hate the Borg.

They are a race that have stolen from us … stolen those we hold dear even as they seek to steal all else that remains.

Well … No more. NO LONGER!

The line has been drawn here with us taking offensive action.

We could have gone after a Borg cube or sphere, but for this operation … we wanted to do something much more important.

We wanted to give hope back to our people by rescuing the crew of the <<redacted>> which had been recently captured by the Borg in the <<redacted>> system.

The ship and crew had been on a simple survey mission when the Borg warped in, catching them by surprise.

Part of a five-ship assault group, the other four ships which were the <<redacted>> … together forcing open a door that the Avalon could slip through relatively undetected long enough to pinpoint the assimilation hub and beam in assault teams.

I would like to say that we took no casualties, but at least the number rescued far outweighed the number lost.

Toss in that each person on those assault teams volunteered without hesitation for this mission.

And because of their bravery, over half of the crew of the captured ship were liberated and beamed back to Avalon.

Once our teams were safely back aboard, we did have to fight our way out but with the help of the other four ships in our squadron, we were able to retreat to warp before the Borg had a chance to stop us.

This was a quick hit and run mission that yielded successfully results and more than that something else we all have been needing a lot of lately … hope.
