BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Child of the Romulan Supernova

Elnyrr i-Rhys tr'Maitland has the distinction of being one of the first two Scottish-Romulans to ever attend Starfleet Academy ... a distinction he shares with his twin sister, Ingrid.

Children of the Romulan Supernova evacuations, their mother, Shallana Maitland, met and fell in love with their father, Ahlan, who was one of the Romulan refugees being relocated by the ship she served aboard, the U.S.S. Verity.

Elnyrr and Ingrid were born nine months later in 2387.

Considering the state of trhe Romulan empire and growing resentment to its refugees, Shena and their father chose to have them raised with Shallana's family's surname as a layer of belonging and acceptance for their child.

The twins later chose to add in the Romulan prefixes as a nod to the heritage passed to them through their father.

When he came of age, Elnyrr chose to follow in his mother's footsteps, enrolling in Starfleet Academy ... Class of 2407 ... as did his sister, Jolarynn.

Near the top of his class, the Scottish-Romulan was selected to participate in the captaincy candidate program as well as an immersive set of holographic missions set in the Klingon-Federation War of 2256.

The missions were to gauge his command performance and readiness to lead others in the field.  

Following completion of the special training, Elnyrr was given command of the U.S.S. Maelstrom, Gagarin-class Battlecruiser.

However, that ship did not survive a borg invasion becoming to seriously damaged to be worth refitting.

So when considering his contributions to defending the alpha quadrant against the Borg and for his work in helping the Romulan Republic and Romulan people ... Starfleet awarded Elnyrr and his crew with a new U.S.S. Maelstrom, NCC-82897 --- Sagan-class command exploration cruiser.

After the launch of the new Maelstrom, Elnyrr and his crew went on to help in discovery of the Solanae Dyson Sphere, the connector gate within that sphere to the Jenolan Dyson Sphere ... helped repel an Undine attack against Earth Spacedock and the Klingon Homeworld.

Then transferred to the Delta Quadrant, he assisted Admirals Janeway and Tuvok with uniting the races of that quadrant into an alliance and unraveling the mystery surrounding the Vaadwaur.

Elnyrr proved himself as a battle commander during the defense of Kobali Prime as well as in the assault on Vaadwaur Prime.

For his actions previously and then in the Delta Quadrant, he was awarded the rank of Fleet Captain.

Then came the Iconian War ...
