BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
The Past
Astrid Thyra Krog was award command of the U.S.S. Excalibur in 2270.
Truth be told, there were not many who wished to captain the ship ... considering it cursed because of the incident with the U.S.S. Enterprise in 2268 when an accident claimed the lives of the Excalibur's entire crew.
Following the incident, discussions were lengthy on whether or not the should would be decommissioned in light of the tragedy.
In the end, Starfleet Command decided to see the ship refitted and returned to service with a new ship and crew.
Finding that captain, however, proved difficult until Astrid Thyra Krog was recommended by Commodore Garrett.
If not for the circumstances surrounding the Excalibur ... the command likely would have passed to a seasoned officer with slightly higher rank.
Still, Astrid proved herself worthy of the position in short order.
Over the course of the next year, she and her crew performed many difficult missions, before the ship's final destruction.
It was in defense of the colony world Norta VI where by ship and crew fought off invaders long enough for the colonists to evacuate.
The attacking force was an attack squadron comprised of several Romulan warbirds with a pair of Nakuhl cruisers in support.
As the last transport was about to escape into warp, it was already too late for the Excalibur to escape into warp.
The sword of the stars instead found itself at the heart of an explind Nakuhl cruiser that opened a momentary temporal rift which the Excalibur fell through ... cast forward in time to the year 2410.
The remains of the Excalibur were discovered by the U.S.S. Maelstrom, commanded by Capt. Elnyrr tr'Maitland.
Astrid and the survivors were welcomed home and for those who chose to do so, re-integrated into Starfleet.
Capt. Astrid Krog was further awarded command of the U.S.S. Destiny --- a new Constitution-class flight deck cruiser salvaged from the recently recovered Shipyard 39.
The shipyard in question had been abandoned in year 2259 due to a a freak eruption that flooded the system with baryon radiation.
It wasn't until 150 years later that Starfleet could reclaim the system along with ships like the Destiny that had been under construction at the time of evacuation.
It is aboard the upgraded U.S.S. Destiny that Astrid and her crew find themselves carving out a new place for themselves within this future timeline.

*** Astrid once had the pleasure of knocking out the legendary Klingon, named Kor, in honorable combat.
