BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Atsila Kalee Maitland is a Scottish Cherokee.
She was raised in the traditional ways of Aniyvwiya (aka. Cherokee) people and grew up on the lands of her ancestors in western North Carolina.
Fresh out of the academy, she was assigned to the U.S.S. Verity, under the commanded by Captain Picard, as the ship participated in the several year project trying to relocate the Romulan people from worlds within the Empire before their star went supernova.
Years later at the rank of Commander, she was picked because of her previous time with the Romulans for a special mission in 2409.
She was assigned as a special military "observer" to the fledgling Romulan Republic to assist them with establishing their military.
During this time, she was actually given command of a Romulan warbird giving her the distinct honor of being the first Starfleet Officer to command such a ship.
Although that assignment was temporary, Atsila has made a name for herself as a capable Starfleet captain.
She went on to command the Lafayette-class U.S.S. Sam Houston (NCC-32845) and then the U.S.S. Crazy Horse (NCC-54771), an Excelsior II-class explorer.

AUTHOR NOTES
Atsila is the re-imagining of one of the first RP characters I would write interactive fan-fiction with.
Deleted the original character and have rerolled her in Star Trek Online as a Discovery-era character even though she is really 2409 as (1) I wanted a fresh start with her and (2) I just love the Disco faction esthetics a bit more.
